Although numerous research studies have been undertaken both by government, civil society organizations and academic bodies and there is abundant information available, yet a central facility that can collect, organize and present the available literature in a systematic manner is a lacuna.

ISPCAN Asian online Resource Centre, will not only provide a range of information on child protection but also will cater to the needs of professionals and interested individuals to build up their knowledge and skills through various E- learning facilities. Simply put, by learning about child abuse and what each professionals can do to intervene using an evidence based scientific approach, we can make a huge difference in a child’s life.

ARC will be a gateway to all stakeholders and communities involved in the field of child protection. It provides free online access to comprehensive source of information on matters relating to child maltreatment. We believe access to a wide range of materials and links online will strengthen knowledge, skills and practices of stakeholders to better understand child maltreatment and employ evidence based approach to combat all forms of child abuse. ARC will also provide a wealth of information and resources relating to region wise statistics, briefings and fact sheets on a continuum of topics including child neglect and several forms of child abuse.

The ISPCAN Asian Online Resource Centre for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect for preventing and responding to child abuse is a joint initiative of Indian Council for Child Welfare- Tamilnadu, India. with International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN).

Our overall goal

Our overall goal is to enhance the capacities of stakeholders (professionals) and communities working for child protection who in turn can play a vital role in understanding child maltreatment and adopt a scientific, evidence based approach for preventing, and providing therapeutic services to children abused, neglected or exploited.

ISPCAN Asian online Resource Centre will feature culturally sensitive and relevant resources in the form of digital modules, online training and E- learning facilities and organization of webinar.

The main contents of the website are:

Ultimately, the goal of ISPCAN Asian online Resource Centre is to pilot and refine effective approaches to prevent, identify and treat violence against and exploitation of children, develop and strengthen multidisciplinary stakeholder team work, improve public awareness and advance policy and legislation to protect the rights of the child.
